3 Key Strategies I Used To Get Traffic To My Blog
Let me share with you some very simple but effective things that I did to get traffic to my blog which still work very well even to this day. The biggest mistake that I think a lot of bloggers may be making is under estimating the importance of learning and using good search engine optimization (SEO) practices.
This includes things like finding good keywords with high search volume and low competition, as well as knowing how to do link building with the correct (and varied use of ) anchor text to get high page rank and high traffic back-links to your content.
Because SEO is such a broad area it is something that you should be making time for on a weekly basis to help keep you current on whats working and whats not. In the mean time there are some basic and fundamental things that you can do that can have an immediate impact on the amount of traffic that you get to your blog.
Strategies I’ve Used To Get Traffic To My Blog :
1.) Content – Fresh, high quality content is the best basis for getting more traffic to your blog. With relevant high quality content not only can you get more traffic with that content but you are also very likely to get your content bookmarked and shared by your visitors that really liked what they’ve found.
2.) Article Directories – Some people suggest that you use the top 50 or top 100 article directories but what I have found is that using 3 good article directories (like ezinearticles, goarticles and ideamarketers) will get you small streams of traffic that add up over time as your number of articles at those directories begins to pile up.
3.) Subscribers – By far your best subscribers will be your email list subscribers however you should also encourage visitors to subscribe using your rss reader so that they will be kept informed on your newest content releases.
These three things are core and basic traffic building fundamentals that you should be using on any blog that you plan to be building for longer than 6 to 12 months. If you are not using these three strategies then you are missing out on a compounding affect of your valuable work efforts.
The good news is that you can start using them today and begin to quickly see the results of your efforts start to payoff with increasing traffic well within the next 30 to 60 days. And if you make getting high quality content your top priority, you will likely see your traffic increase even faster.
Additional Things That I Also Do To Get Traffic To My Blog
Bookmarking – This is always a good step to take when you post new content, even though you may not see a big increase in traffic as a result of your bookmarking but every little bit does add up.
Social Media – This can have an immediate impact on your current level of traffic especially when you find the right social media sites for your niche. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc tend to have both a very wide and broad reach so that there are followers for almost any niche.
The thing that worked best for me when I wanted to find new ways to get traffic to my blog was “learning from the successes of others”. I also added my own personal twist to things until I found the best strategies that got good results for me, and you can now do the same.
