Driving targeted traffic to your internet based home business is not quite as easy as many people say it is, and converting the traffic you do drive into sales is even less easy. When you run an online business you are in competition 24 hours a day 7 days a week, as the internet never sleeps.

Becoming more creative than your competitors is one way that you can improve the amount of sales you make:

1.  The first thing that you need to think about is the type of niche your business is in. Consider some ideas on how you can make your website or blog more interesting. With the technology available today you don’t even need to develop anything to put on your website to make it more appealing to your visitors.

As an example, try adding well written and informative articles that are related to your particular niche to the home page of your website or posts to your blog on a regular basis. This sort of thing will attract people to keep coming back to read more.

If you are unable to write these articles yourself, then hire a ghost writer to write the articles for you. Just make sure that the person you hire is an expert in the subject that your niche is connected to.

2.  Find unique ways to get people to subscribe to your email list. Don’t just offer an e-book or report that is something that everyone does. Try to find something a bit different. Maybe offer to write an article for them or offer some sort of free training if they subscribe.

Spend some time and if necessary hire a graphic designer to help you create a banner or squeeze page to promote your offer. Make it so attractive that people will want to subscribe to your mailing list and will willingly give you their name and email address.

3.  Social networking is another way you can attract people to your website. There are many different social network sites on the internet apart from the big ones like Facebook and Twitter, so try and find some that are niche friendly.

Get to know people and make friends. As you become better known you can begin to tell them about your business, but
in a very casual way and you will find that more and more of them will start to visit your website or blog.

Remember that with all these things that you are doing your main concern is to make your internet based home business stand out from the rest, as something that people want to visit.

These are just three ideas to use for becoming more creative in promoting your online business and there are probably many more ways of doing it. You just need to learn to think “outside the box” and you will no doubt surprise yourself with ideas that can make your business one of the best on the internet.
