Do you know anyone who runs a successful traditional off-line business who does all their advertising for free? The people who try to do this generally fail within the first year or two. So why should legitimate internet businesses be any different?

What is unbelievable though is that there are a large proportion of internet marketers who actually believe that they can succeed using only free methods of advertising. It should therefore come as no surprise that so many of them fail, especially in the network marketing field.

One way in which legitimate internet businesses could use help with their advertising is by paying someone to do it for you.

In both network and affiliate marketing there are many co-op advertising programs available on the internet and these programs will do all your marketing for you. This is an excellent way of spending your money as you are paying for results without the necessity of going through the whole trial and error stage of trying to find what works.

A lot of these co-op programs are designed to generate leads for a specific online opportunity, but there are also those that will generate prospects or leads on a more generic basis.

If you have ever tried to generate all of the leads yourself then you are well aware of just how much this can cost. Therefore using paid advertising to take care of this aspect of your business makes good sense as it frees your time up for the parts of your internet business that you enjoy doing and are good at.

Consider carefully how paid advertising can benefit your legitimate internet business and help you to build it more effectively. Often you will find that this will be money well spent at is moves your closer to your goals and dreams of success.

If you have been involved with an internet based home business for any length of time, and particularly if it is an affiliate based business, you are bound to come across people that you sponsor who are not making any money and will then contact you and tell you that you have sold them a scam program.

If they are angry enough they might even threaten to file a lawsuit against you for cheating them out of their hard earned money. So long as you know that the business that you sponsored them in to is a legitimate internet based home business, here are some tips on how to handle the situation.

1. The first thing is do not panic! You need to realize that you are dealing with someone who tends to be a bully. It is really much easier to blame your failure on someone else, rather than take responsibility for your downfall on yourself. Many people, especially when it comes to internet marketing think that just by joining a program and maybe paying a small fee, the money will just roll in.

What they need to understand is that an internet based business, just like a regular brick and mortar business takes time and effort to build. This person needs to learn to take responsibility for his own actions and not blame everyone else when what he expected does not materialize immediately. He will just lash out at you for the failure.

2.  Whatever his attitude, don’t reply in the same tone. We are all tempted at times to give as good as we get, but this will serve no purpose at all. Rather than lowering yourself to his level, remain calm and write an email explaining that the program is legitimate.  Be polite and be sympathetic but tell him that you are making money with it.

3.  Offer your affiliate further help and enquire what he has have done to lose money. Tell him that he can ask for your help and advice at any time before spending his money on things such as advertising or other business related expenses and that you are willing to work closely with him to help him turn the failure around.

You will find that generally people like this are looking for someone to guide them and lead them more than anything else.

4. Another thing is don’t delete the emails that you receive from this person, keep them on file so that if you ever need to and he threatens you with lawsuits in the future you have these emails that can be used as evidence in your defense.

5.  Remember that if the situation reaches the point where you can no longer handle it on your own, you can always turn to your own sponsor for help, and if necessary you can go to the managers of the affiliate program and ask that this person be removed from your downline, and prevented from participating in this legitimate internet based business.

Keep in mind that just because someone says an internet based business is a scam it doesn’t make it one. So long as you feel that the business you are offering to other people is a legitimate internet business and you are happy and making money with it, then you can stand up to those who are so quick to call something a scam without even giving it a fair chance.

If you have ever thought of publishing an e-book to promote your internet based home business this article is going to explain to you how easy it is to do. It will only take a couple of hours of work to produce and publish an e-book and upload it to a high traffic website.

Once you have done that there is nothing more that you will need to do with it to start building a subscriber list that you can then use to promote your legitimate internet business and begin to build a customer base, which if you nurture it will continue to grow and give you sales for years to come.

After trying e-book publishing and seeing how well it works, there will be no reason for you not to repeat the process over and over again, using different books to multiply the amount of new leads that will be added to your list.

This is what you will need to make this method work:

1.  An e-book that you can give away.

2.  A way to lock the e-book.

3.  An auto-responder that will collect the names and email addresses for your subscriber list.

Let’s talk about each of these points in turn.

If you don’t already have an e-book that you have written and find this idea too difficult, that is not a problem. The easiest way to publish an e-book is to look for one that you can publish under your own name, in other words find a “Private Label Rights” or PLR product that comes with giveaway rights. All you need to do is search Google to find what you want.

When you have found a PLR e-book that you like and want to use, make sure that it has giveaway rights, as without this you will not be able to use it for this project. Once you have an e-book that is suitable for use, download it to your hard drive. Unzip it and check the contents. A good quality e-book will most probably include a text version of the book in a Word document, which you can then modify. Before making any changes to the book it would be a good idea to read through it and make sure that it is a good product, as you do not want to give away something that has no value.

The first thing that you would then need to change would be the title. Make sure that you include your keywords here. It is essential that you get the title right if you want to attract targeted traffic, so don’t rush this part of the procedure.

The next step would be to add your name to the title pages of the book. Adding an introductory paragraph would also be a good idea. Use your name here as well and also place a link to your website at the end of the book. Also find a few other strategic places in the book where you could add a link to you website or one of the pages of your site.

Once you have completed these tasks and modified the e-book you will need to convert it to a PDF file which can be done with Adobe Acrobat.
